Dollars and Sense
A substantial portion of CIP income derives from client fees
and other earned income. Fully 75% of CIP's budget goes toward
the delivery of direct services, while administrative costs total
only 15% and fund raising 10%. The agency conducts a diversified
range of fund raising activities and special events, mobilizing
the efforts of interns, staff, and community volunteers. Donated
funds come through grants, private donations, Business Partnership
contributions, and the generous participation of the community
at large. CIP receives no funding from the United Way or from
federal or state sources.
CIP undertakes a year-round grant request submission program,
and 100% of grant monies received are applied directly to the
costs of service delivery. Ongoing research is conducted to find
appropriate grantmaking organizations whose missions and funding
priorities are consistent with CIP's work in the community.
